farm yarns

stories worth listening to

"The best stories don't happen to you. They happen around you. If you stop long enough to hear them."

CHILL, BE, BREATHE

Yarns grown from soul & soil.

Mostly these are not made-up places with made-up stories.

They come from real farms, real animals, real afternoons where something small happened and turned into something nobody forgot.... Mostly.

A sloth on a fence post watching a bus disappear. A chestnut farmer who knew what was missing before anyone else did. A grammy by an old coop at dusk with a tale that doesn't rush. Two paths into the trees and a choice only you can make. Mostly.

Short enough for bedtime. Long enough to matter. Real enough to carry home.

Press play. Settle in, listen & just be. Either way, the farm is waiting. Mostly..

"A good yarn lasts longer than the person telling it. As long as you're listening" - Craig W, Storylands

YARNS THAT STAY

A Chucky Chestnut Story · Chestnut Brae

Ice Cream Summer

How The Summer Turned Sweet

One of those Nannup summers. Heat pressing down. Nothing quite growing right. People keeping to themselves more than they should.

Then Chucky moved. Just a fraction. And everything started moving with him.

Eggs cracked. Cream and sugar in. Chestnuts. No recipe written down, just a feeling people followed. You stir. You wait. You stay. Nobody leaves.

Somewhere in the middle of it all, quiet at first, someone starts saying the words. Then everyone does. Because some things you just know.

The day summer stopped feeling heavy and started feeling shared.

Stir it slow and don't be quick. Share the bowl and have a lick.

A Pingle's Farm Slow Down Story

Chill with Grammy

A Tiny Yarn

Come sit down with old Grammy.

Souci's already there. Settled in. Smiling. The kind of smile that means everything is exactly right.

Hear that? Those soft clucks in the distance. Pingle's settling down for the night. Grammy's got a tale to tell. One that doesn't rush, one that waits. Just like this place.

Find a warm spot. Share the earphones. Close your eyes.

Sit a while. Relax. Dream of magical things.

"Because Grammy's got all the time in the world and so do you."

A Chestnut Brae Audio Yarn · Chapter One

Souci gets left behind

Chapter One

Nannup is not a place that hurries. The trees don't hurry. The air doesn't hurry. Even the light takes its time deciding where to land.

Souci was on the fence post. The bus was leaving. Georgia was on it. And the WA Chapter of the Thunderclucks had just decided that a small lost sloth was absolutely their business now.

One farm. One sloth. A circle of extremely opinionated free-range poultry. And something waiting to begin.

Get comfy. Make sure your ears are nice and warm.

Chapter Two coming soon. Souci's only just getting started.

An Interactive Storylands Adventure

Pick a path with Souci

A calm yarn

Come sit with Souci.

You're at the edge of the trees. It's very quiet. And Souci has found something.

Two little paths. One goes left. Soft leaves, gentle wind. One goes right. Warm dirt, tiny footprints.

Souci looks at you. You get to choose.

Slow steps. Then... did you hear that? Something just ahead. Souci smiles. We're close now.

Find out what's waiting. Next time.

What's at the end of the path? Come back to find out.
